Girls Only Section

Our objectives are to provide a safe, welcoming and fun environment for girls who want to play cricket and to provide quality coaching with the opportunity to develop individual and teamwork skills.

Our Girls Only section can also attend mixed training and play in mixed teams.

Our story…

Our first girl joined 10 years ago and trained in our Academy with some of our current Senior 1st X1 players.

A couple of years later a girls team was formed and whilst there was little local opposition at that time, our team played in the Lady Taverners knock-out Cup and organised successful tours, to Bournemouth in 2016 and to South Wales in 2017.

An u13 team played in the Gloucester South League from 2016 to 2018 and many of those players represented Wiltshire.

Numbers dwindled briefly, though we still had some very proficient girls playing mixed cricket.

In 2021 and 2022 we ran successful Girls Only Dynamos courses which many of our current players attended.

Our u11, u13 and u15 Girls teams are all playing in the Wiltshire league and our u13s and u15s have entered the Vitality knock-out Cup.

Summer training takes place on the main Hardenhuish Park ground on Fridays from 5.30 to 7pm, led by current coaches, Jo Parsons, Ryan Smith, Sam Dix and Gerard Hilderly and Vickie Hathway. Winter training takes place in the Dome on Saturday mornings from 10 to 11am.

Additional assistance with coaching, umpiring and scoring  will always be welcome and appreciated!

The ECB is placing increasing emphasis on the development and growth of Women’s and Girls cricket, we are at Chippenham CC. Many of our existing u15 players have already played for our Women’s Diamonds Section and we plan to fortify this pathway as our girls move up.

More girls, especially in school years 3 to 6, and older will be most welcome to join us.
